1954 Canadian Pontiac Pathfinder rebadged as a Tempest. 6,550 km since frame off restoration.

Everything new, modified or rebuilt better than stock to look period correct. This is not a trailer queen.

It's got its share of chips, dings, scratches including a few cracks in the bondo on the hood.

Appraised at $25,000 before paint professionally buffed, interior finished, grille rechromed

and many other mechanical modifications since. Weighs only 3300 lb.

Body: - 3 inch roof chop - Shaved door handles with poppers - Tinted side glass - 3rd brake lights - 1953 Chevy businessman side stainless - 1954 Chevy rear taillight housings with custom lens - Front and rear bumpers flipped, shortened and tucked - Hood and trunk chrome removed - Dual hood ridges - Hood air vents - 1954 Cadillac air conditioning vents on front fenders for cabin air - 1968 Dodge side marker lights - 55 Watt halogen backup lights from hell - Custom 2 tone paint: 3 part epoxy, 3 coats color, 3 coats clear - Custom license plate light - Remote trunk release - Drip rails shaved

Drivetrain: - 400 SBC about 375 hp, 500 ft/lb torque (guess, never dyno'd) - 9.5:1 compression - 0.060" over - Ported and polished heads - Edelbrock performer intake, 650 cfm carb and camshaft - Dual snorkel air cleaner with ram air - 2004R 4 speed automatic transmission with lockup torque convertor - Transmission cooler - Dual tuned exhaust with magnaflow mufflers - 10 bolt limited slip 3.08 gears - 1968 Pontiac GTO poverty hubcaps - 15" steel rims

Suspension and steering - Power rack n pinion steering with fluid cooler - Power 4 wheel disk brakes - Custom billet front suspension/control arms and spindles - Leaf spring rear suspension - Front and rear sway bars

Interior: - Full gauge set - 8 ball floor shifter (automatic transmission) - Reproduction 15" 1957 Chevy Belair steering wheel - Tuck n roll bench front and rear seats - 4 point roll bar - Shoulder seat belts - Radio delete panel - Car alarm

I'd just quess they chose "Tempest" as a play on words, like the car is a tempest after all the modifications and what not.

That's my old car. It caught fire in November 2020. Electrical short through the firewall. using 60 year old grommets through the firewall isn't a good idea. Here's a video of the fire

It was a write-off. It was sold at an auction Fall 2020. I was adding up how much work it would need: engine, transmission, electrical, bodywork, paint, interior/upholstery, dash, glass. It took me 20 years to build it, it would take another 5 to get it back to the way it was. It had amazing handling, drove like a sports car - front and rear sway bars. I machined my own front suspension.
