My kid brother’s winter project.

My brother has been looking for one of these for awhile and picked this up in Vancouver a week ago. He says he would see some listed out east and quite a few in the States but not many in the West. It is sitting on a Blazer frame with its running gear so some of the grunt work is done. Needs lots of body work and the interior redone. Runs and drives nice. I think its a 49.

Is your brother going to let you mess with this beauty.  Keep it stock looking.

So once the rust repairs are done he has to cut and stretch the rear wheel well a couple inches for the wheels to be centred. Also a little remodeling needed on the front bumper area but leaving it stock. There were a few two tone paint options and he is leaning towards black and ivory if he can get the body straight enough for it. Dont see many of these around. He told me the bodies were made by manufacturers who made refrigerators so lots of flat panels used. Not sure if he is right with that or not.

You mentioned that you aren't finding any out west. That is ironic, when I went out on a road trip all the way to Vancouver Island back in 1970, I saw more of those Willys trucks in B.C. than anywhere else.

Here's an ad I found in one of dad's 1953 Sports Afield magazines:
