Well, as much as I like all these old cars, I cannot keep them all and this one has to go.
The car is a 1956 Pontiac Pathfinder Deluxe sedan
Sold new in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec in June 1956, this car has lived all its life whithin 30 km from where it was sold. I am the 3rd owner and it has 55 thousand original miles.
The good:
Original V8 265 c.i. runs strong, and original automatic Powerglide works great.
The car just passed the infamous Quebec safety inspection, as everything has been done right to make it safe and reliable.
- New fuel tank, pump, sending unit and lines
- Brand new brakes all around (cyl, master cyl, lines, shoes)
- New high performance radiator
- Small stuff all new: ball joint, headlights, etc, etc.
- Brand new rocker panel sections, underfloor braces and some floor sections, done right with good parts and coated with POR-15
- Brand new muffler and exhaust sections
Many thousand $$$ invested.
The bad:
Seat upholstery has suffered over the years and will have to be done. Door panels have some defects, and windlace is tired a bit.
Cosmetically, this car is a nice driver, has some beauty marks around, but it's a very nice turnkey cruiser that's ready to go and it's priced very low.
Asking 11500$
It is the car discussed here, but I will post better and updated photos later today:
Looks like a real sweet looking 56 Poncho, especially for that kind of money. The original 265 V-8 just sweetens the deal for sure. I wish you good luck in the sale and i say an old car prayer, that she goes to a good home and not a house of horrors. Cheers.
