Thanks wonder did they ever build 1965 Beaumonts with 64 tags on them?

 Highly unlikely.

Can you take pics of the 2 tags and the group will comment on the originality of the rivets.

There are other small differences between 64 and 65 beside the grille, tail lights etc. For example can you post the numbers from the radio dial? ( all even or odd numbers? )

Here is how your VIN tag decodes

48837050886

4 = model year 1964

88 = model number for a Beaumont Sport Deluxe V8

37 = body style code for a two door sport coupe

0 = assembly plant code for Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

5 = start of sequential unit number

0886 = where your car is off the assembly line from the Oshawa plant

and cowl tag

style 8837  2-9-3

body no  830648

paint  E

TRIM   965

    B70M35U63

STYLE = refers to style of car

8837 = model number for a Beaumont Sport Deluxe V8 two door sport coupe

2-9-3- = production date for this car is afternoon shift of September 3, 1963

BODY NO = refers to body order number

830648 = body order number for this cars body

PAINT = refers to exterior paint

E = lower/upper body exterior paint colour Danube Blue

TRIM = refers to interior trim

965 = interior trim code for a ?  no such code as 965   Could it be 966?

B70 = option code for a padded instrument panel

M35 = option code for a Powerglide two speed automatic transmission

U63 = option code for an AM push-button radio

Your avatar shows a car with a 1965 Beaumont front clip.  Yet the VIN and cowl tag are for a 1964 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe.

A picture of the rear of the car will tells us whether a 1964 or 1965 Acadian Beaumont for the car body.   As they have two drastically differing taillights.

Based on the tags I decoded.  Are a for and early production 1964 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe.

My guess the car has had front end damage.  Sometime in its past.  And only a 1965 Beaumont front clip available to repair it.

Just a correction to the above post.
In 1964 paint code E is Bahama Green metallic ( In 1965 paint code E is Danube Blue )

Norontca,

I did make a mistake on the paint code.  Paint code E = Bahama Green in 1964.  Thanks for catching that.

My resource book rolled over to the 1965 Beaumont specifications.   So the interior code of 965 is

also correct for 1964.  So interior code 965 = Saddle vinyl bucket seats.

I rather like that combination of Bahama Green exterior with Saddle interior. If fact I think it's a much more pleasing than my original Bahama Green with Black interior. Maybe also that's why, in the past, someone changed my seats and door panels to white. The white remain.
