It is super rare to find one of these with a manual. I wonder if it is a T-10 or Muncie? Most had the atrocious Dynaflow which is fine if a CVT appeals to you.
Great colour combination and a super example. Those cars don't need disk brakes, they have huge finned aluminum drums that are self-energizing and don't drag like disks.
The car has a 401 (325 horse 445 lbs/ft) but could have also come with a 425 (340 / 465 or a dual quad 360-horse).

I almost don't know what to say when I see a car equipped like this, to me the story on why and how it was built this way are more intriguing than the car itself.
Ive never seen a modem full size Buick with 3 pedals even in pics. The old ones had a 3 on the tree into the 50s on the lower trim models. Neat car.

Back in the late 1980's i knew a chap that had a real solid 1958 Buick Special sedan that had a three speed stick on the tree. I remember the car being very quick for a large barge 50's car.

Back in the mid-50s a Buick Special with a 322 3-speed made a well-respected cop car.
I often wondered what would have happened if you pushed the zone office to get a '70 Wildcat 455 convertible with an M22. Maybe a blank stare and advice to see the service manager at the dealer about a conversion. Would have been an out-of-sight package.
Nah, just find me a '66 Wildcat Gran Sport. A 1-year offering and you could get a dual-quad 425 Nailvalve. Good luck...
Or how about a gorgeous '64 Wildcat 4-speed convertible that is staring me in the face?

If memory serves me after 1963 through to 1973 all GM car four speeds were Muncie's.

Probably a long tailhouse Muncie. I was surprised by the presence of Warner Super T-10s in Pontiacs starting 1971 when an M20 was spec'd with a 400 c.i.d. I generally thought 1975 was the switch. Then again the Z28 used the Super T-10 starting '74. M22s were all Muncies through '72.
