AMAZON Frustration's

For the third time in a month I have had a screw up with AMAZON, their sellers or Purolator or Canada Post. First it was an item I ordered that went into cyber space and after 1 month a credit to my Master Card was issued. Then a gauge I purchased  was stalled at Missasauga Canada Post due to Covid (an already abused excuse for incompetence) and I did not receive it ,so another one sent and I got it a week later. Guess what 3 days later the original one showed up. No more explanation. Up 1 gauge. Third order bought a gallon of Lucas 15w-40 synthetic oil. Purolator delivers it 6 days later from a warehouse in Quebec. Upon inspection the dumb asses sent me Land & Sea 2 Cycle Oil. I contact the seller for a return slip and he tells me just to keep it and don't worry he will send me the 1 gallon of 15w-40. Up 1 gallon of 2 cycle oil (a lifetime's worth) Shipped 15w-40 on Sep 7( Labour Day holiday.starting to wonder ??) and on Friday Sept.11 after checking the tracking # I see the seller has been contacted that the order was damaged in shipment! Not sure if I am living right or the stars are out of alignment but I am losing what little patience I ever had and would like to meet some of the people in person so I can "we will say clear the air" Anyone else had the "fun" I have been having. My rant for the day!!!!!

Prime's 2 day shipping went out the window when the pandemic hit. Now some items are showing a 2 week delivery. You'd think Canada Post would be making money hand over fist with all these deliveries yet they still bleed money.

I ordered a part out of PA on a Thursday. It shipped USPS on the Friday. Arrived 11 days later ( included in there was a statutory holiday ).

I have waited weeks beyond scheduled delivery dates for parts being shipped by Canada Post from Saskatchewan.

Initially the reason cited was the pandemic; not sure if this is still a factor but the last package only took 20 days to arrive.

We get packages through prime pretty much every other day, delivered by an assortment of couriers. Rarely are things ever wrong. But we are in the GTA.

I have found Rockauto to have the best delivery service, Amazon has not been too bad. My wife uses it more than i do and I have to say their returns have been great if you have a problem or just dont want it. They pay shipping both ways on Prime.

I use both Amazon and Rockauto as a reference point price wise and part number wise, some things are a similar price locally so I buy local. Many things on Amazon Canada are not cheaper.

I worked for Crown Assets (Mississauga) and we got Ontario's "lost mail" to sell ... believe me, the government doesn't make much money selling "lost mail" ... they are lucky if they break even.

I ordered an MSD Pro billet distributor for my 72 Nova and it was nowhere to be seen for 4 weeks ( I ordered it in the middle of the pandemic). Called and asked them what the next step was and they said they would mark it as lost in transit and theyll send me another one. Showed up 3 days later.....then the original one showed on my front step 2 days after that, delivered by some oddball courier company that subs off Canada Post. I let Amazon know and they said to keep it, too much of a hassle for them to deal with because of the volume of orders they are dealing with. Pain in the ass but Im up a distributor that I can use on the 66 Chevy II.

Yup.........ordered new Microwave, arrived damaged, sent a return notice, credit card credited and low and behold, new undamaged unit shows up and we are now a Microwave to the good. I am still waiting for a delivery that has gone into the Canada Post vortex, we'll see if this shipment arrives.

9 times out of 10 I get the correct delivery. However we are also accumulating a 2nd blender, a second wide-screen TV and a 2nd other small kitchen appliance.

What beats me is how they (Walmart, Costco, Canadian Tire etc.) don't care to follow up and delayed shipments eventually make it anyway and they don't want them back!!!!

Agree, Rock Auto is the best. Although they drop ship from manufacturers, they give you some options for delivery time and cost, and their packages arrive quickly.

Classic Industries (and I expect others like them) are not bad with respect to quick shipping, but they are not as flexible as Rock Auto with shipment options and the costs for drop shipment of parts from multiple sources can really add up.

It's a challenge as well with the reliable Canadian parts suppliers on a couple of fronts. 1. they do not necessarily have everything in stock so they have to await shipment from their suppliers to fill their orders; and 2. They also rely on Canada Post and other shippers who have struggled to meet shipment time commitments since the pandemic took over in the spring.

Interesting.  I've ordered lots of stuff from Amazon since the pandemic hit, not on prime, and have not had a problem except for one item that was coming out of the states - but it did arrive eventually.  Usually I wait until I have enough items to take it over $35, so I get free shipping, and if it's coming from Amazon Canada I usually get it within a week.  Guess I've been lucky, since I'm way out on the east coast.

Glad to read all of this. I was having great luck all through COVID with shipments but just recently, ordered a wrench for my neighbour and what a circus it's been. Going on 2 weeks now with Prime, was scanned by Canada Post in Winnipeg last Wednesday but nothing since. It must be on shelf here in Winnipeg but for some reason, can't move it. Very weird and frustrating.

I ordered an HEI distributor from Summit for an unbelievable low price with shipping. The catch was the four week delivery. I am not in a hurry so time isnt an issue. I received notification that my order wouldnt arrive until November, rather than September and the option to cancel the order. I still dont have an issue waiting so I will see what happens.
