windshield-wiper motor

Hi all

I have a Pontiac laurentian safari 1958 6 cylinder. My father bought it new in 1958. So i am the second owner. I have a problem : the car has wiper- vacuummotor. Does anyone know how to change to an electrikal motor and wher to find it.

I live in Sweden. Looking forward to any suggestions.

Welcome to the site Steven.

Great car! Would make for a great story here, and surely a good candidate for car of the month.

Newport

The optional delay feature is worth the extra money. Works great with just a bit of a mist and has a wide adjustable delay period. Cliff

While I don't have any experience with wipers on a 58 I do want to say " welcome aboard " and let you know we need more info and pics on your special wagon.

Something to consider if you go the route of an electric wiper from Newport, is the firewall in your Canadian built 1958 Pontiac Laurentian is likely the same as a 1958 Chevrolet, not a US Pontiac. I glanced at Newport's website, and the wiper motors for the 1958 Pontiac & Chevrolet have different part #'s, and look totally different.

1958 Pontiac - NE5800PT
1958 Chevrolet - NE5800CP

Maybe some of our 1958 experts can chime in.
