Wanted: Pioneer GM-120 car amplifier from late 70's

Eccentric Pontiac owner in search of a Pioneer GM-120 amplifier for a retro system I'm building.  These were "the" amp to have back in the late 70s, early 80s. Famous for the unique huge cables that connected deck and amp, that made hooking them up easy work even for a twelve year old.

Got one gathering dust on a shelf or in your basement?  Or even any of the classic silver components, like the equalizer?  I'm your man. Help me relive the glory years and annoy my wife even more.

Thanks Ray. I knew of that one, it's been on Kijiji for months. Pretty beaten up for the price. He does have one piece that I've been watching though.

I had the silver pioneer amp, eq, and tape player back in 1978 when I was 14 years old. Traded it for my very first car a 68 Beaumont 2 dr HT Deluxe, blew the rear end out doing neutral to low drops while rolling backwards, was definitely not responsible back then. The car was scrapped a month later.

Thanks for looking Timbuk.

Funny story... I've sourced a few Pioneer items locally over the past five years. One guy bought his stuff new and put it in his 68 Beaumont, now long gone. The other guy was rebuilding a 74 GTO, so I traded him a mint Custom Sport steering wheel. I lost $$ on that trade but I figured he needed it more than I did. As 73SC has shown me, sometimes the hobby is more than just the money, it's helping people out.

Thank you Timbuk. I think I am pretty much done with sourcing equipment for my build. Have had some good luck over the last few weeks, and have met some good people through this experience.

Late to the show, I had a lowly GM40 amp/deck in my 77 Cutlass. The cool thing was I could bring the deck out onto the car roof while camping. It had a 5' long slave cable amp to deck.

And it sounded great with the 6x9 3 way Pioneers in the back. Truly they are great amps. The 40 was so clean.

used to have 2 of them in my 67 Chevelle when I was 18-pretty sure that's why my hearing is so bad these days! LOL

Thanks guys, I am investigating the ad recently posted. (Thank you Timbuk) But - I am pretty much done collecting, my next step is to test and install. I had all this Pioneer stuff back in the day but sold it with the car back in the 80s... I have now collected what I owned back then, and then some.

I've gotten a few questions on "why am I doing this"... when I could buy brand new stuff with more power for a cheaper price, with less hassle. I guess it's similar to why someone would choose to own a Canadian Poncho rather than a new Camry. One has soul, the other doesn't.
