It was a very interesting article and i am constantly amazed that all these names originate from french speaking Canadian history. There is plenty of English speaking history for Canada, as much or more than French speaking Canada. By the way this not slagging our french speaking friends in any way, I am just curious why they are all French related names. Obviously more so GM Canada and Ford of Canada.

Given French has long been known as the language of love I would postulate that the names used are more Romantic and add a level of sophistication and cultural appeal that the Marketing people thought would evoke passion and attachment to the cars and hence increase sales.
