8 Years ago today

I moved the Pontiac to rearrange the shop and realized that it's been exactly 8 years since I bought the car !

69 Pontiac Convert2012.jpg1969convert2020.jpg

She looks a bit different today.

The car now has all the bondo gone and parts on the car are from my first 69 Pontiac and many other parts are from the good members of Canadian Poncho.

( jmont64, Howmac, Canadian Poncho, cdnpont, Tinman) Just to name a few.

I  know a lot of you have had your cars longer but I took this chance for a shameless plug.

I know Pritch has just stated the he has owned his Canadian Poncho for 45 years. w00t.gif

Who are our other long time owners ?

I owned my 66 Beaumont for 21 years (1999-2020). Not sure where that stacks up for longevity here.
Letting it go this past summer was like watching your daughter get married. Bittersweet. I believe the new owner is a good thing for the car, and the car is good for him. I found I just wasnt getting the enjoyment out of the car that I once did - I was feeling like I was just the custodian, whereas the new owner is pumped to have her.
A time for everything.

I've had mine for almost 20 years, but I've loved them since I was a kid.

I know not a Pontiac, but have owned it since Feb 1990, so over 30 years now.

And the one that brought me to the site has now been 11 years, not much progress on that one.....

Salivating over this one right now !

The 65 SS is my favourite Impala.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1532529168&siteLocale=en_CA

Solid car , needs a few spot in the floor to be patched , has a small block (either 283 or 327) 4 speed 12 bolt rear, factory vacuum guage ,its a true ss , all glass is good ,in primer , needs finishing of body work and some wiring to be sorted out ( have like 3 full harnesses ), can work a complete parts car into the deal

Having never seen a 65 until that night, it was love at first sight for me, and all these years later wouldn't trade it for any other year.

Selkirk is like 20 minutes from my house, let me know if you want eyes on it, kinda know my way around them....wink

I'd 409 it. It would still be technically correct being they had them in the first half of the year.........

This thread is a good one. It makes you stop, pause and look back at what you were doing then. I couldn't off the top of my head remember what I was up to then. But my Flickr page tells the tale.

Man, time flies..

Was working the bugs out of the just installed HO350 in the 67,
