Good article on a fellow in Manitoba tracing the history of a rare 1970 Dodge Challenger convertible

I enjoy reading about a person's quest to find out the history of their classic car.

Cool story... I remember his ad in kijiji looking for info on the car. Interesting that Erwin Remple painted the car and is doing it again... he's one of the best. Must be well into his 70s. I looked into him body/painting my Beaumont in 1988... it was too rich for a 15 year olds budget... so I ended up doing it myself.

Lucky to find a panther pink car!

The stories of these old cars are always compelling to me.  When you think of how long these cars have been around, and all the lives they have touched, you can't help but imagine the stories the cars could tell if they could talk.  Good for this guy to take the time to research his car's history and share it with the rest of us.  Love it!

In terms of possibly being the only Panther Pink Challenger sold in Canada, back in the late 1980s when I was involved with the local Mopar club, we had a member with a yellow 1970 Challenger R/T convertible that was originally FM3 pink - you could still see traces of pink when you looked down inside the convertible top well, and the car was coded for this colour on the fender tag.  We asked him why he painted it yellow when he had such a rare car, and it was the same response - as a guy he didn't want to be seen driving around in a pink car... biggrin   I don't know whether his car originally was sold in Canada, though, so it could have been one brought up from the south - after all this was 30+ years ago... can't remember everything. wink

I heard the story on the radio going to work this morning, that's why I love our hobby ... Car archaeology. I wonder what the drivetrain is ??
