Another recycling project plus a new to me ride.

So made a trip today a little further north to Williams Lake and am allowing new life back to this one family owned car. Basically all there but needs a complete restoration. Also a chance to test drive my towing vehicle I purchased Thursday. Love my little 5.3 Silverado but I felt I was working it too hard through the mountains so I bought this 04 Duramax. 20 mpg on the 6 hour trip up today so will see how we fair with it fully loaded back tomorrow. Nothing like diesel power.

You will like the Duramax for towing, lots of bottom end torque. HD2500 as well. Nice.
Hope did it tow with the car on backwards, tried that once and was not happy with it, LOL.
Not enough tongue weight and trailer did some dancing.
Good thing for trailer brakes.

Well it was a successful trip with a couple of nice sunny days for travel. Reason it was on backwards was because he already had it sitting on a trailer so we just backed them against each other and I winched it across. Our trailer is an 18' so I just cheated the car towards the front about a foot further than I would if it we were the other way and it towed really nice. Pretty much 100-110 all the way as the speed limit allowed. Little over 16mpg loaded and through the foothills so very pleased with the truck. Not sure how long I'll keep it as I need to justify having 3 trucks. Anybody looking for a project? Have an extra front clip for it plus a set of quarter panels.

It's a 283, pg. ps, pb, black interior but not sure what the exterior color is. Almost a real light green.

Jerel, buddy.
I can still see the truck on your lift in the garage. (lol)

I know the feeling tho. My car went into storage last week and now i am on a parts buying frenzy.

Holler if you need some help on the weekends.

Ken
