So sorry, Bro. You did the right thing, but that doesnt make it any easier. We had to have a foster that wed taken in put down, behavioural issues that we just couldnt correct, and it was the hardest decision Ive ever had to make. Our two are #s 5 & 6 over almost forty years, so we are very familiar with your pain. Hopefully, your and Scruffys new companion will help you through the grieving. When our #4 died, unexpectedly, #5 suffered terribly - they were eight months apart in age. Your survivor will thrive, better, with a buddy, even with an age difference. And, of course, they dont remember, the way we do.
