They both are 4 link. But the bottom one is strange in that it has the Panhard bolt/upper control arm bracket on both sides.

I'd say the top one is 69 / 70 as it has the bracket to mount the brake hose with the built in junction block. 68 had a brass junction block. BTW, that bracket is different than a 10 bolt.

Yes, I would agree, the diff up on the shelf has an "addition" that is not from the assembly line.

And scrapping it would be best. Mark, do you know someone who could haul that away for Kevin?

Agreed, I was looking at the welding too and it doesn't look like the other side.

I wonder what the purpose was in adding a right side bracket to the left.

Right hand brackets would be more plentiful to replace a missing/damaged left hand.

True, it could have been damaged and could have been removed from any and all 10/12 bolts. But missing on a 12 bolt? Is there such a thing as a 3 arm 12 bolt? Maybe?

If there is such a thing as a 3 arm 12 bolt, I have never seen one. And I have seen a lot of B body 12 (and 10) bolt rear ends. I have however, seen a number of 4 arm 10 bolts, all of them in wagons.

Maybe it was the only bracket the person who added it could find.
