Canada Post......weird delivery so far.

I bought a new car radio on E bay that was coming from Richmond B.C. Great I thought, should be here pretty quick.

That was November 21st.

Canada Post said it received electronic information from the shipper on the 24th of November, origin was Richmond B.C.

Friday November the 28th, tracking said  "Expected Delivery Today". Walking the dog in the evening I stopped

at the superbox to retrieve the package......not there. Okay I said it didn't get delivered, then it should be here Monday.

On Monday November 30th it wasn't there. Checked the tracking, and it said "Expected Delivery- tomorrow, December 1st.

Tuesday Dec.1st , I check the tracking before going to look and it says "Expected Delivery-Today".....it never showed up.

Wednesday Dec.2 tracking says " Item Delayed, stay tuned for Updates"

Thursday Dec.3 tracking again says "Item Delayed.Stay tuned for updated"

Friday December 4th,tracking says

Delivery progress

Information updated: Dec. 4

DateTimeProgressDec. 210:03 pm
Item has been presented to Canada Border Services Agency for customs review.
Vancouver, BC

It was so close, and then sent back to Vancouver?

Whatever they are looking for......I didn't order it. evileye

Canada Post and USPS are absolutely brutal right now . I am starting to use UPS for USA bound shipments now . They are extremely fast ( within 4-5 days ) . I recently sold the same individual ( in Indiana ) 2 separate parts . One was shipped by Canada Post / UPPS close to 3 weeks ago ( still has not arrived and they say another week ) . This past weekend the same guy ordered another larger part and I shipped by UPS ( as they were $15 cheaper than Canada Post .) It was shipped Monday afternoon , and he got it first thing Thursday morning !

On another note the UPS store informed me , there is no point in paying for signature on delivery , as due to Covid , the drivers have been instructed to simply leave it at the door as they do not want any human contact . If a "Porch Pirate" takes the parcel , just make sure you have it insured for loss .

Can't speak to Postes Canada, but the Postal Service down here is struggling, as are UPS and FedEx.

Did I miss the news story of Alberta not being in Canada anymore? confuse

Why would Canadian Border Services Agency  be involved in a shipment between Richmond, BC and Calgary, AB ?

Rock Auto, ordered Monday, it shipped from Houston, arrived an hour ago.

Princess Auto, ordered Nov 24th, coming from Saskatoon. At one point it had a tracking number but was still sitting in Saskatoon at Canada Post. Now the tracking number has vanished (and I'm a fool, I never recorded it) so I have no idea when to expect it....

Spent exactly one hour on hold on Princess Auto toll free help line (headset on, cleaned up and reassembled a Delco starter while I waited!). Got a Purolator tracking number in 15 seconds (website had nothing listed), tracked it and it hasn't moved since Nov 25th. Online chat with Purolator (another 25 minutes) and they say they will get back to me, they don't know why it doesn't move... Everybody is BUSY right now...

Was surprised a couple of weeks ago to receive a Canada Post parcel delivery to the front door on a Sunday.

My $51 Amazon Chevy Truck grille never showed up. I checked the tracking number - it was bogus. I inquired to seller. He says "We shipped 3 weeks ago- Canada Post must have lost it. Refund issued. Sorry". I replied "Explain the bogus tracking number". He replied "I don't like being accused of being a cheat. I'll give you refund and ship another grille". I won't hold my breath.
Another Amazon parcel due Nov. 27 arrived today. My wife said a car roared up the lane, a guy got out, tossed the parcel at our cellar door, ran back to his car and tore up down the street..
You're almost best to wait until after Christmas to order anything that's not urgent.

Well I may have the winner! A while ago I bought a small part from a Kijiji ad in Alberta and the seller addressed it to me properly in Ontario. It seems it made quite a trip as it went to the UK before returning to Canada ( after about a month of waiting). When I queried Canada Post as the tracking had stalled, they had no idea where my parcel was or how this had happened. I showed them the box with the customs stamp as proof, and no apology. Sometimes it leaves me completely baffled!!!

That is definitely good advice.....I wouldn't order anything or send anything through Canada Post until well after the holidays.

Checking on the package tracking from Richmond, BC that I started this thread with, it is now to arrive (won't hold my breathe)

expected delivery: Wednesday,Dec.9, 9 am to 1 pm.  If it arrives that day, that will be 15 days to deliver from Richmond BC to Calgary.

I had another package sent from Campbell River to West Vancouver.....delivery date has also been changed 4 times.

It was sent on November 27th and is expected to arrive on Tuesday December 8th.....(11 days)

Arrived today, 14 days from Sasktoon to 1/2 hour south of Winnipeg. I could have walked there and got it faster! Good thing it was nothing urgent.

Package that the last tracking message said was to arrive yesterday between 9:00 m-1:00 pm never arrived.

Tracking has  a new message:

Expected delivery: Item delayed stay tuned for updates

This makes it day 16 since leaving Richmond B.C.

...and I thought if would be faster than ordering from Hong Kong....no

I was out for a walk yesterday and met the Loomis driver who I always saw when I was at work. He says at all the Loomis depots across Canada they have many semi trailers untouched, just waiting in the cue to be unloaded. He said it's ridiculous how busy it is for them.

Purolator sent me a survey today because of my contact with them regarding my lost Princess Auto shipment. I told them I understand why shipping is an issue right now but I would have been a lot happier if I could have at least tracked it. I couldn't even see where it was after the first few days and then suddenly the guy was at our door with it after 14 days.

For Ontario,

Canada Post deliveries times are about to get real messy.

Almost all US Postal Service parcels, heading to Ontario addresses, pass through this facility

Coronavirus: 121 employees test positive at Mississauga Canada Post facility - Toronto | Globalnews.ca

Canada Post said 121 employees have tested positive at their large Dixie Road facility since Jan. 1.
