Was my first car, and I still regret selling it. I know its not a Popular car, but I like the style and still do. I know some browse kijiji, or if someone knows of one thats for sale for cheaper price. Let me know. I know theres a dealer in the US that has one for 9k USD. But figured Id try here first... I know its a Ford, I dont want to join another forum, I like the folks on here. So please dont tell me to join a ford forum lol.
I find using searchtempest.com, going through Craigslist postings, often turns up gems that aren't on Hemmings, Auto Trader Classics, or other "buff" sites.
Hey Mike, I am a fan of Canadian Pontiacs, but it's not the only type of car I like - life is too short to be stuck on one brand (lol). I like Fords, Mopars, other GM brands, Studebakers, AMCs, Packards, Kaisers, and even a bunch of *gasp* 'foreign' cars. So IMHO it's OK to keep posting here even though you're looking for a Ford! Seriously, if anybody were to be run out of here it would be me first because I don't even own a Pontiac... (easy now, Carl, I won't go without a fight ), but yeah I really like the folks here too.
I do scan the ads from time to time but haven't seen any in Canada. I'll keep you in mind if I do see one, though. Also I was wondering if a 1972 would fit the bill as well, as they were quite similar to 1971.

Thanks guys!
Yes, the first Hemings ad was the one I was looking at.
I like the blue one see2xu poster and the black 429 MC posted.
I thought there would be more LTDs in Canada and more Galaxies in the US.
I prefer the 71 LTD over the galaxie and 72 because the rear end on the 72 seems more bulkier.
It's funny you mentioned an LTD as another member and I were just talking about this 76 for sale in NS. It'd be a fun cruiser with the 460, has 83k on it and is under $5k.
If you want someone to check out the 429 in WV, or even the 400 in Pittsburgh, they're within a day's drive for me. And, like most of us, I'm looking for something to keep the grey matter active.
Both look nice, and are a lot less expensive than the one at Country Classics. They seem to specialize in oddball stuff, and want a pretty strong dollar for it.
I know where you are coming from. I had a 71 LTD Country Squire. Every time I see a 71 or 72 LTD on barnfind.com I torture myself by following the post and wherever it is listed for sale!
They are out there, good luck with your search.

Nothing beat the ride of those big Ford's and Mercs, we had a 77 Marquis that had the smoothest ride I have ever experienced. It had an optional "cross country ride" package where washboard roads felt like pavement.
I'm really starting to like the 60's-70 barges (all brands). I can see one on my future. I must be getting old. Fedora and box of Kleenix on the package tray will be a must!
A friend in Summerland had an ex-RCMP highway patrol 71 Ford with a 429. It was based in Osoyoos when it was active. I saw the car about 10 years ago just sitting.
