for a while, and the fact that it's not sold suggests they're a bit greedy even in today's superheated market, but I don't know where I'd store it...no

I think having one of these parked inside a garage would turn a 2 car garage into a one car garage very quickly.

Here's another (not as nice) but bid starting at $15 K.......no bids as of yet.The 70 Chrysler 300 just hasn't hit the popularity button with car buyers yet.

That's pretty cool, Todd.  Does the quarter glass roll down?

A friend had a 1971 Plymouth Fury 1 two door hardtop and the rear windows didnt roll down. When he bought the car he didnt notice the lack of window cranks in the rear. I wouldnt be surprised if the windows not rolling down was standard on the base models, with the option being roll down windows.

your comment reminded me of one of these cars - i worked at my uncles chrysler dealership in the mid 70s and one of these cars came in for service - it had a fixed post by the rear quarter window- i only ever saw one of them - i don' think it had window cranks for the back windows

They made these full size Plymouth 2 door post cars right through 1971; there was a black 71 in a town about 75 miles from me until the late 80s or early 90s. In 70-71, as I recall, this body style was available in the higher end Gran Fury, which is what I think the brown car pictured here is.

I would expect the large window was roll down and the quarter vent window was fixed; there would be no other logical reason to split them. But never having seen one in real life,

I could be wrong. I agree though that the single fixed glass looks so much better than the two pane arrangement.

I think you're right - I believe these are the ones that had the paisley vinyl roof and the hideaway headlight configuration from the Sport Fury.

Chrysler did the fixed quarter window thing on the low-end B-bodies as well.  Many years ago I had a base '73 Charger with slant six and quarter windows with no winding mechanism or handles.  I often wonder how many were made like this.

Also perplexing to me was when GM introduced the new downsized A-body for 1978 - even the 4-doors didn't have roll down rear windows.  I remember well because my dad took some home from the dealership and I felt claustrophobic in the rear seat without a window that I could roll down for some fresh air.

That was my understanding as well, which is why I asked if the rear windows rolled down once they were converted to one-piece affairs.

Speaking of cars without normal things, a friend bought a new Chevette 2 door base model in 1980 or so, passenger seat had no slider, no glove box door, I suppose the rear windows didnt roll down. But it probably had a cigarette lighter? Kids today have commented on my car having crank windows, whats that they ask?

I love it when someone comes up to my passenger side to talk to me.
