Pet peeve and Rant thread...Get it off your chest here!

Thought about this a while back and then Kevin's post reminded me. Someone cut you off on your way to work? A neighbour runs his excavator at 11:30 at night? Post away..then maybe the rest of us won't feel as bad knowing it happens to others also! OK whos going first? I'll post mine later as it's late and will be long.....

I'm sick and tired of hearing "There you go" when they hand me my change or my purchase at a store. It's "Thank you" people! "There you go" shows NO gratitude for the fact that I chose to do business with you.

Thanks Jim, I feel better already.....

Here, the term that bothers me is "Have a good one". It's not "have a good one", it's "have a good day". When I hear someone actually say it properly I make a point of emphatically acknowledging and encouraging it.

Whew .. feels good.

I don't like the 'no worries' response to 'Thank you'

My "pet Peeve" is people out walking at night wearing "ALL BLACK" clothing, no reflective markers and wonder why they get hit by cars. I have a LED light on my hat, red LED flashing arm band, + a red LED flashing light on Ralph's collar while doing nightly dog walk!!! Amazing how the vehicles give us a "wide berth"

One of my many pet peeves are people who are apparently much more smarter and wealthier than me that can't say a sentence without the word "like" in it.
"So we were, like, so excited!"

Totally agree. We've almost hit people walking down the streets at night around here, and I agree, everyone is wearing ALL black these days. It's nuts, it's the fashion and I guess I'm even a victim of it, although I'm not walking at night. And yes, whenever we see a person with reflectorized clothing, or a light on the dog, we both say at the same time...now there is a smart person.

Toronto, a while back was reporting a huge increase in pedestrian fatalities, I suspect all black combined with the phone was the leading cause.

I have a lot of "pet peeves" but here are the highest on my list.

Being the 2nd car in line at a red light & when the light changes to green the car ahead doesn't move because he/she intends a turn without signaling.

Stopped at an intersection and having to turn right (in Montreal no right turn on red is allowed.) As the light turns green it's a forward arrow only and a green for pedestrians to cross. There is a pedestrian but he doesn't move until the green forward arrow switches to a solid green light and the pedestrian "cross" green starts flashing. So then gotta wait...

How about driving on the highway on the right lane and getting close to the car ahead but unable to pass on the left because there is another car there going at the same constant speed.

At checkout in supermarkets it p** me off when the person ahead has put all their groceries, then asks the employee what the total is but only starts opening her purse after she's told what the total is. Really? Do I really have to pay now????

My #1 at this point in my simple life.

People that don't pick up their Dogs crap.

I have a serial crapper leaving a large pile on my lawn. Has happened 3 times so far. Takes place in the wee hours. We have two dogs, and we always pick up after them, even in the woods. It's not difficult.

One of my top peeves is that for those of us with English as a first language, people somehow forgot how to spell and use halfway correct grammar.
"We went over they're and picked up there car. Then we drove it over their."

So if you can just park one of your vehicles on the street I have a family member who is very good at this.  I know she would like to visit through your way again.  Very good eyes and doesn't sleep much at night.

I'm usually pretty good with that but probably 2/3 of my messages are done off of my phone.  For some reason it makes all the apostrophes disappear plus a few other things.  Guessing what you are going to say is another killer if you don't reread your posts.

I notice a lot of people skim over messages or emails. Example: You send a seller of a vehicle on Kijiji a message like this:
"Hi, can you tell me how the undercarriage is rust wise? How many KM's are on the car? Are you selling it inspected?"

And you get this reply;
"Hi. Undercarriage doesn't have any rust".

The other two questions go unanswered...

One little peeve as I sell some parts occasionally. Usually a newbie but whoever comes on the site looking for a specific part or two and you reply saying you have them and they just fall off the face of the earth never to be seen or heard of again. After reading this statement I guess that isn't much of a peeve.

I love how people automatically become expert appraisers about things and tell you that your stuff isnt worth what youre asking, and promptly give you their opinion about it too. I post things on there, reluctantly I might add, to sell stuff. Not get every keyboard smasher that wants to pay bargain basement prices to respond.

People who put a car for sale online and can't spell the name of it. Drives me nuts.

It not that hard just to look at the nameplate and make a note of it.

You don't see "Parisienne" spelled correctly very often. I also see "Camero" instead of "Camaro" quite a bit.
