Anyone have any recent experiences mailing stuff from canada to the US via the post office

i'm just wondering if things are getting better

I checked the usps website and they have the problem with the Mississauga plant flagged as a source of service disruption

My most recent experience within Canada is sending from Winnipeg to Fredericton - it took 7 days

It's been a couple months for into the States but it took just a hair over a week and that was almost across the country.

It has been very slow to the US. I shipped a shop manual to Kansas, and one to New York. Both took a month or a touch over.. I was surprised, I told the buyers likely 2 weeks maybe 3 weeks max.

Not US shipping, but expecting an order from Ontario since mid Jan.  In 5th week now and yesterday processed in Mississauga, today the site isn't working.

The problem at the Mississauga Facility is not Canada Post.

The CBSA Customs Agents walked off the job citing unsafe working conditions after a number of workers there tested Positive for COVID - 19.

Canada Post and CBSA are two different Unions and Agencies. CP passes parcels to CBSA for inspection and duty etc.. before they can be delivered.

It has been reported as recently as Friday that they are starting to process mid January parcels through Customs now. That's at least a three week backlog so the amount of material passing through Pearson is incredible. Imagine 747's from every courier company known to man full of parcels landing everyday for three weeks and the cargo just piling up.

That explains why the manual I shipped to Russia took forever, I think 3 months or more. Tracking showed it stuck at Mississauga for a long long time.

I sent something from Calgary to Savannah GA a couple weeks ago, and it showed up ahead of schedule (sent on a Friday, and delivered on a Monday a week and a half later). It was processed through Vancouver & San Francisco.

I think that for the most part the Christmas back log has uncorked;
I sent a package to my mom in LA at the very beginning days of December, generally packages get there in about three days (well ahead of schedule), this time though, they arrived (if I recall correctly) mid-January.

I also sent a "Christmas card" to a gentleman at around the same time, and it took pretty much a full month to get there;
That same gent sent me a package in early January, and it got here in just over two weeks later.

I did purchase an ebay listing of some specific rubber bands for a 1970's component cassette player in early December;
I cannot believe what I have seen with this tiny package - so I'll share what I see when I try to track it:

this is a joke.jpg.

Here's the info, somewhat condensed:

Dec 16 - by all accounts this appears to be the day it was mailed from Coarsegold CA zip 93614;

Dec 31     SHIPMENT RECEIVED ACCEPTANCE PENDING - LOS ANGELES, CA 90009

Jan 1     INTERNATIONAL DISPATCH READY - ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS), 90009

Jan 20     INTERNATIONAL DISPATCH READY - ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS), 90009

Jan 20     ARRIVED AT INTERNATIONAL SERVICE CENTER - ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS), 90009

Jan 20     ARRIVED AT INTERNATIONAL SERVICE CENTER - ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS), 90009

I reached out to the seller quite recently, and instead of actually writing something to me, they sent a reply which appeared to be a verbatum copy and paste of the tracking information.
