Very cool.  These days automakers are scratching and clawing to remove weight from their vehicles, and will especially be wanting to do so if the current US administration reinstates the CAFE standards that the last administration reversed from the previous administration.  This looks like a no brainer for them, if production capacity is there, and if they can get the price down through economy of scale.

For me... at $829 US, I think I can wait until it becomes more widespread, plus I'll wait and see if anybody's car burns up like some phones and laptops have been known to do...  

The 'extra start' feature for a dead battery would come in handy on a cold winter morning, though.  I like that.
