finally got her to turn over by hand. has one sticky spot so im going to keep turning it by hand until its freed up then turn by starter. I used ATF and acetone as a last resort and it seemed to do the job. Had to take converter cover off and turn the ring gear to break it loose. Big day for me!
Youve probably already thought of this, but just in case...
Did you have the rocker covers off? A frozen valve can prevent you from turning it over. if you get the valve to open, it might go from stuck closed to stuck partially open. Ive also seen push rods get bent trying to turn over a stuck engine, and Ive seen pressed-in rocker studs get jacked out of the head... I always like to be able to see the valves moving.
ya it might have a bent valve, was quite sticky in one spot and took me two hrs to free it so it turned fully. i put the plugs back in and filled her up with ATF and acetone again and will let sit overnight and drain tomorrow and see if it will start. fingers crossed. I have located a nice 350 with turbo 400 locally so i have options

That's my "go to" penetrating oil mix ... 50/50.

so went out this morning and pulled the plugs and tried to turn it over, no juice to starter. Pulled starter will get new one tomorrow as the parts store here is closed on Sundays now. Dang
