Just a peak under a hot rod build that we usually don’t see.

My hot rod building buddy called me up today to do some work for him. Of course it always includes a look in the garage and the projects going on. I thought some of you may enjoy seeing some of the handiwork that gets covered up when the body goes on. These guys do everything. Its my friend who is in his mid 70s and his 2 grandsons. Even the bending and polishing of the brake lines is a work of art.  A couple pictures here.

Yeah every piece of that frame, each strut, even the suspension components are all designed by them. Brilliant but I tease him that I have to show him the button to end a call on a cell phone. Lots of laughs in that shop.

Very impressive.
So its 4 wheel drive, short wheel base, not a pickup because of the body mounts, hmmmmm... is it a Blazer or something similar?

A 4x4 car would be cool (as long as it is not lifted).

Trying to jog my memory what sits on there. I think it is a 56 Suburban pickup. Whatever it is it is out at the body shop for paint. I have to go up there in a couple weeks for a few days and will get some details. I recall them widening a front end on a pickup awhile ago and pretty sure this is the match for it. As many times before though I might be wrong.

Sure is Purdy, It's a shame to cover it up. But I think he is gonna need a Bigger fuel tank for that engine. LOL

A Cameo Carrier, maybe, Jerrel? That wheelbase doesn't appear long enough for even a '56 'Burb. I can't begin to imagine how many hours are in that build, not counting the planning, design, and procurement.

I forgot - the GMC version of the Cameo Carrier was tagged as a Suburban, which would also gibe with the length of that wheelbase.  That would be a rare piece to restomod, but certainly doable.
