Correct, it was a split window. Left highway 102 not far from Halifax airport, rcmp figured it was doing about 120mph. Landed upside down, frame broke in 2, seats came out, broke ears off the rear end mounts, busted the manifolds off.

Yes, I was there when Blair still had it on his truck.

The guy who owned it was in his 50s and I owned the identical car then and was in my 50s. Blair called me to see if it was me and my car. I called my mom then to let her know it wasnt me.

One shudders to think what became of the pilot. Right near where that faux-RCMP met his well-deserved fate, too late.

Yes it was very close, one exit down the road I believe. The pilot did not survive.

So that's why they call them 'split window'.........no

Unfortunately that happens a lot. Several years ago I went to look at a 65 Corvette convertible for sale....smile.

Asked the owner to read the vin number from under the dash. As he came to the end of the model number he read 37.

I said that should be 67 for a convertible. Nope. Some time in this car's past the vin plate was swapped out.....no.

He was not happy when I explained the car was virtually unsaleable to a knowledgeable Corvette buyer.

I recall when that happened, the guy died instantly in the crash.

I couldn't find the story, but did find a post about it on a Corvette forum:

https://forums.corvetteactioncenter.com/threads/sad-news-we-lost-one-today.99179/

I have to say it feels a little creepy to look at that photo, knowing what it is.

Sad...just look at the rims and tires..have to know how your car will stick. Still play with my car...but not at 120 mph...There is a live and learn...but no death and learn..... Only takes 1 FU to be gone.....

Article said the car had no seatbelts, all 63s had seatbelts. I had heard it was not the fault of the car, driver may have been having issues in life.
