RE: What is this electrical thing?

So how does one of these work?  do you not have to run a separate wire from your brake pedal switch when you use this thing?

Ive thought it would be nice to have a 3rd brake light in crazy traffic,  but lots of hassle to run a separate wire up and tie into the brakelight switch.

I guess it's really just a switch.

Left and right signal/brake side of the 1157 tailamp bulbs are input. You signal left while braking and it still sees the constant on right brake lamp as a steady voltage, and keeps the high mount brake light on. Or visa-versa.

Prevents the high brake light from flashing on the signal input during braking.

Yes, exactly as Mark described. I may be wrong, but if my memory serves me correctly, one did not need the module if the vehicle had separate signal lights that were not incorporated with an 1157 bulb.

100% correct. Then all it needed was power from the wire going to a brake light.

That's a TP-101A, Mark is dealing with a TP-101.

(I'm being as critical as some people on a Facebook group I'm in. I think we have a winner)

 Yep

Just Rev A  ( RevA = original didn't work too well or we found a way to save $0.02 in manufacturing costs )

Need a spare Ted?

If you or anyone else on here doesn't have a use for it sure I'll take it.

Put it aside until the next CP breakfast whenever that might be.

Also interesting that you found it near the trunk latch. Looking at mine that module fits up under the light itself with long lead-ins from the tail lights.
