Graveyard Carz

I started watching this series on Youtube (which is about 6 seasons behind Motor Trend) and I'm a bit addicted to it.

The owner/host Mark Worman really knows his Mopars and they do some really nice restorations on some really rare Mopars.

I find season 5 on to have less drama since a couple of clowns left the show. I appreciate the effort they put in to do correct restorations- spot welding where the factory did and painting the chassis and engine components correctly, using the same paint daubs etc. While this type of restoration is not for everyone I do enjoy seeing it. I'm also jealous at the sheetmetal that's available for these Mopars. I'm also jealous at the fact they can send a complete dash/cluster assembly out to Instrument Specialties and it comes back completely ready to bolt in - all restored to show quality. I bet thats a 5k hit right there.

It would be really nice if there was a show featuring GM cars being restored like this - documenting the numbers, talking about rare options etc. There seems to be a vacuum for this type of program.

Yeah, he's out in Medford, OR, hardly a place one would think of as a hotbed of Mopar Muscle. I was happy when that useless son-in-law disappeared.

Kinda got turned off by all the drama in the early episodes. I'll watch it again

I've watched it lots too and he sure does know his stuff, I just wish he would get past thinking he is a rock star. I miss the one guy that left a couple years ago who just quietly went about doing his job. He knew how to take things apart and then nicely back together again. Looks like they have tons of restorable inventory.

I kind of get a laugh out of the owner. David Rea was a tech there and a good one. He left and has his own shop now.

David Rhea, that is the guy I was thinking of. Probably got tired of twinkletoes and his showmanship.

Been watching this for years. Mark knows his stuff, but he likes to show off his knowledge also. He had a guest (forget his name) on his show in one episode that blew his Mope knowledge's doors off.

Yes, the latest episodes have a lot less stupid in them.

The "History in Reverse" short episodes are good as they condense the restoration of one of the cars into a 20 minutes episode. Most of the silly BS is removed.

There was an episode where a guy had the remains of a 69 Daytona that was pushed over a cliff in Newfoundland. It was one of the few cars they declined to bring back to life as there really wasn't enough car left over to call it original. Also there's a 70 Coronet RT HEMI 4 speed convertible featured in a few episodes. It's one of 2 built (the other long gone). This one was rescued from a junk yard in Montreal in the early 80's. It's apparently worth 1.5 million. A lot of rare Mopar's were sold in Canada.

Just finished a '70 Coronet RT 4sp hemi convertible . Initially Chrysler said they had never made any '70 Coronet Hemi convertibles. Anyway there was one made and sold  some where in south western Ontario.? A couple of Mopar guys saw the car in a wrecking yard; read the vin and 'WOW' The story kind of dies at this point unless someone else knows more ?  Grave Yard cars said the car had been repaired with original Chrysler parts which were still available from the dealer at the time. They were freshening the car up for its now US owner.

Apparently another one has since turned up?

I don't mind the show, especially as they started to show more car stuff and less of Mark goofing around. I don't know what every happened to Royal, he was Mark's best friend but kind of disappeared. Allysa is smokin' hot.

Sorry guys. I could only hope that I was involved with a car like that. The first few words of the comment were only that; a comment. Maybe a bit of punctuation would have helped

A lot of rare Mopar's were sold in Canada.

There is the famous "Barrel Cuda" from NFLD (I think). It has been a long time since I googled it.

In Bone Stock magazine, they always have rare Canadian Mopes.
