Windlace?

After placing an order, then being told was back order until June, sadly today told order for Aqua/Turquoise double lip style snap on windlass was discontinued. Sigh!

The old stuff has shrunk and discoloured on my 65 wagon, so wondering if anyone out there has a handle on a supplier of same or method to resto existing back to like new appearance?

new headliner and no where to go!

Hey Chris

How did you ever make out finding the vinyl for your seats? I believe yours has the same interior as mine and i want to redo the front bench seat.

Good luck finding the windlace.

Hiya Toad;

Did pretty good with vinyl. Turns out as you probably know the colour and pattern of the vinyl was taken from the GTO/Tempest parts bin. I managed to get exact match
from SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon. Just a word of warning, they will sell the moon up front then they place the order with manufacturer, so it may be a while before they
get their hands on the stuff and forward to the you. Luckily for me they did come through but I did have to deal with a nasty girl on the other end of the phone when
inquiring of order status. The good news is product is perfect match . I got enough for my two tone front seat, rear storage panels and armrests. They seem to be the
only ones with OEM match and will try to sell you door panels too. My original 230 ci 6 goes into machine shop tomorrow for rebuild. Actually aside from one stiff wrist pin
and well worn cam/lifters its in good shape, will freshen the glide while engine out. Found correct original rad from a guy in Lethbridge so next up detailing engine bay. The
original yellow grease pencil markings still on firewall!! Plan for running and mobile before snow and minor bodywork and interior next winter. ps. NPD emailed and informed
me that the windlass has been discontinued but a good guy there said there is some remaining in California and Florida so it is on its way here as we speak, I ordered 45'
Good touching base with you, where are you at with yours?
Chris

My car is insured and I drive it when its nice out. New engine last summer (mild 383 sm blk), probably a transmission upgrade this year as the powerglide is still the original. Trying not to tear it down too far. Once you do that...project creep happens and you end up doing a frame off restoration.

I have wanted to get the seat redone since I bought the car, I wanted to keep it a original as possible inside.

Thanks for all the info, that is very helpful. If I order now I can do the seat this winter, LOL!

Hi Terry, sorry thought I had asked about windlass when I ordered carpet and headliner.  I did find the windlass as mentioned in post at NPD

and it is on its way here as we speak.  I am looking for new seat foam for the front bench seat of the car, all I have found so far is bucket seat

or split bench, any words of wisdom?
