LOL! I remember going there as a kid and seeing cars with the vinyl roof's torn up. Dad refused to take the 69 Pontiac through because of this and we used one of their zebra striped rentals .

My Dad wouldn't drive his regular, steel topped car through there. I always wanted to smuggle a monkey home.smile

I also remember seeing window trim ripped off a car thanks to the monkeys.

Closest we got to a zoo in pei was the Buffalo farm near Montague. Once in a while they would sell off meat amd my sister would make Buffalo burgers.

The Monks now operate the Buffalo farm so there won't be any Buffalo burgers anymore. The herd is getting quite large however. I saw them out roaming the other day. There is an Amish farmer selling buffalo meat here however.

Boy this thread has really derailed!

I'll add to it:

We had a vole herd on our property 2 years ago! The foxes sure cleaned that herd up fast.

Vole burgers aren't that good.blankstare

Refreshments chilling in the Fridge Jim. Restrictions lifting soon so Dougie can come oversmile Car does drive like a dream, 283 moves the tank very well. I will trim off the lose toupee, puts some temp patches in the floor and get a safety

Cheers.

Yes, Lucky is very bad beer. Even a warm, shook-up Bud is better!

Re Monkeys vs vinyl tops, I actually went through the African Lion Safari in a friend's '74 Monaco brougham coupe. As we entered the monkey area they jumped the car. We heard tearing, and soon there was a huge sheet of vinyl covering the back window. They went for the side mouldings as well. Did I mention that my friend's grandmother was seated in the right front passenger seat, and on the right hand mirror was a horny monkey with his junk all hanging out? She looked and turned away immediately, embarrassed & red-faced. My friend and I were laughing from the back seat, and meanwhile his mother was freaking! She was driving like she was qualifying for pole. The monkeys held on until we hit the exit from the monkey area, guarded by St. Bernards.

To preserve your car's integrity they offered rental '74 Nova 4-doors to travel the whole park. They had ZERO side mouldings, white with zebras stripes added. All the staff vehicles were white with zebra stripes. Back in '70 when I first visited the newly-opened park they had zebra-striped K5 Blazers & 4x4 shortbox Stepsides.
------------

Now back on the rails. What was the topic? 1966 Grande Parisienne. Aztec Bronze with black vinyl top & parchment interior is very unusual, but I can't think of a better car to show off such a combination. It must have been a knockout when new.

that sweet running 283 is coming out of the Grande and gonna replace the tired 327 in the CS rag top for now. A few things to do to the rag to make it safe for a summer driver while the Grand gets convered

Pass side is always the worse. Edge of road side where the rain, dust, mud collects and gets thrown up. But we are out and traveling the West...might be different when the car is travelling East........biggrin
