1956 Pontiac Pathfinder Deluxe on kijiji AB

Looks like a decent original-ish car, similar to David's feature car of the month, but not nearly as good condition-wise.  Note that it's another example showing pinstriping on the wheels from the factory.

1956 Pontiac Pathfinder Deluxe survivor

Swap/Trade

Description

1956 Pontiac Pathfinder deluxe. All original, not restored survivor. 307 v8, single barrel. Three on the tree. Runs excellent, drives excellent, keeps up with highway traffic no problem. Regularly driven to working back. No rust, except for a very small patch at the rear of the car in behind the rear bumper where the gravel would collect. Car originally purchased in Milk River Alberta, have original registration and insurance slips from first owner. Comes with the original ice scraper that was purchased with the car. Odometer reads 37,000 miles, is most likely 137,000 mi, but I wouldn't argue if somebody told me it wasn't. Everything works, signal lights, vacuum wipers, headlights tail lights high beams low beams heater blows hot, all vents work, radio works. Brand new windshield, all windows roll up and roll down like they should. Driver side of the front bench seat is worn out, so I usually put a pad under me when I drive just to boost me up a little bit. Headliner was ripped, and some of it has been taken out. It's literally paper thin, and should be replaced. Replacement headliners are available on the internet for very reasonable prices. When I purchased this car, I had to put it through an out of Providence inspection, as it had not been on the road in quite some time. It passed, just needing a muffler. I have since put a voltage regulator and 8 spark plugs in it. The car can be daily driven, right now it can be driven to wherever you would like to go. This is probably the only example of a 56 Pontiac Pathfinder four-door deluxe that you will find. The car is an amazing survivor, has not been restored, has not been changed, has not been ruined. It has the original paint which is in excellent condition, a couple of scuffs and dings and dents, but the car is 65 years old. It is registered and insured in alberta, in my name. It is driven to work at least twice a week, and sometimes a Saturday cruise. I know what the car is valued at, I know what it is appraised at. I know what I have is insured at. I'm interested in trading. The car is not for sale. I'm not interested in lowball offers, or people telling me what they think it's worth. This is probably the only example that you will find, and it is not garbage. It is a wonderful car, that you can jump in and drive 7 days a week if you'd like. I'm interested in trading for late model Mustang gt, Camaro, late model crew cab pickup, h1, or something else that is nice, has value, and I will enjoy. Please feel free to text me, I'd like to talk about cars,. I'm in no rush to sell it, I'm not hard up for the money. I do not require help, I love cars, and I'd like to find a forever home for this one. I posted another ad with some more pictures.

Judging by what he'll only trade the car for he thinks it's worth 15k plus.

I'm wondering if the PCV is relocated or not installed? Appears to be a plug in the valve cover where it should be on a 307.

I edited my first sentence, adding "not" nearly as good as David's condition-wise.  That's how I originally meant to word it but for some reason I left out "not".

I also decided not to comment on the seller's description ad I figured it spoke for itself...

It amazes me how some mid-northern Alberta old cars seem to be able to be driven forever without rusting severely.  This one looks like it probably saw a lot of gravel road use, and I wouldn't be surprised if it had 237,000 miles on it.  The engine could likely have been replaced in the early or mid 1970s with something out of a wrecked late sixties low mileage car... or something like that.  On the east coast, this car probably wouldn't have even seen the 1970s as it would likely have been rotten by then.

Really I was just impressed that it still has remnants of the original pinstripes on the wheels.  biggrin

Nice survivor . I also wonder about the pcv system. It has a 1955 radio with black knobs instead of the white/ivory 1956 correct one s. Missing a signal light lens which are hard to find in good condition. I think he would be lucky to get $5000 for it. It seems that there were a lot more V8 265 Pontiacs in 1956 than in 1955.

Too bad he doesn't have the 265 for that year with the Pontiac valve covers. Would make it just as usable and twice as interesting.
