I'm thinking the '72 Ventura would have come with the baby moon style caps?

Edit:  Then again I could be wrong... biggrin

The Pontiac crested Baby Moons appeared in model year 1973 for GTO (not LeMans cars just GTO)

The basic hub cap as shown was used 1972 through to at least 1985 throughout the Pontiac Line and baby moons did see service on Ventura and Firebirds in 73 and 74, not sure about other years.

I was thinking about those ones in my pre-coffee haze... The '72 Sprint in the brochure appears to have the same caps as Don posted.

I just added to my comment as I search the memory bank.

Hubcaps in this post are not 72 Ventura hub caps. The 72 Ventura still had the stainless steel ones in a similar but more rounded shape as these late 70s aluminum hub caps. They became baby moons on the 73 Ventura however, and although I've not had these myself I believe the moon style were, initially at least, also in stainless steel. Picture below, also used on LeMans and possibly full size cars in 72. They were on the 72 Ventura I bought in 1977.

We are definitely spliting hairs on this one. I searched out some photos of cars described as 1972 models and one 1979.  Have a look.

IMO there is a huge difference between the first ones on the early 70s cars  and the last one on the 79 full size car. They share a pie pan shape but the contours are different and the two types are  are made of different materials. I like both but prefer the early 70s version.
