60th year.

Astra Zeneca 4 weeks ago at the Etobicoke Costco.

And yes it was (is) possible to go outside your region for the jab. So I did.

I should mention that my wife has become somewhat of an expert at booking fast (today or Tomorrow) Costco appointments for the AZ jab.

For some reason she can see on-line openings when others see none??? She's booked 26 people so far, and they've all gotten their shots without fuss.

Yes, and please post of you had any side effects. All I'm hearing from people are the horror stories.

I saw a news report quoting statistics that clearly identified the Baby Boomer demographic as the source of the most false information and conspiracy theories being promulgated throughout Canada.  Something like 41% said they would get the shot, kinda scary that we have developed this much mistrust in our Country.

I will mention that getting the AZ last month at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto (formerly Toronto East General) was the easiest most pleasurable medical experience of my life, after my 20 minute wait to ensure I had no effects I went straight to my gym and rowed 3 kms.

AZ Reaction? Mild headache and a tender arm for two days, maybe a little tired as well. Overall what you would expect if your body had reacted to it in some way.

A good reaction I suppose, meaning it's actually doing something.

They say that most reactions are healthy and should be expected.  I know of quite a few who were tired, achy and the tender arm.  all fine now.

dropped to 59 here in MB this week.  I'm scheduled for April 30th and expect the Pfizer.  I'll take whatever is available.

Got my first shot 2 weeks ago today in Barrie.
Got Pfizer
73 and counting
Can't say enough about how well organized they were. Everyone had an appointment time and they made sure to move people up to the front as their time neared ( no butting in line ). Line kept moving and I went thru the door exactly at my time slot. Appointment was 3:18 pm and I was out the door by 3:53. Very efficient.
Absolutely no side effects
Anxiously waiting for second shot

Booked for the 21st, Pfizer. I haven't heard of one negative side effect other than a sore arm for a day or two. Even my 95 year old mother in law said if anything maybe she was tired for the next 12 hours but barely worth mentioning. She got the Moderna.

Got my Pfizer shot 23 days ago......very slight muscle soreness on the arm.

Couldn't even see where the shot went in.

Didn't help that I used that shoulder to push the door tight the next day, all good next day.

Had they followed the Pfizer recommendation I would have gotten the second jab yesterday.

Now I have only 100 more days before I get the second one. Another crap summer.

Pfizer today, no side effects yet. Second dose July 29. No wait, actually was a minute or 2 early, they were booking every 5 minutes and it was really efficient with no lineup and done in a local pharmacy.

Medical history proves that the only way to eradicate a disease is through mass vaccination.

Let's take Small Pox. This disease persisted in Canada from the time of early French Settlers until 1946. I am sure many on this board received their Small Pox vaccinations at schools across the country. The disease was irradicate by 1979 and today the disease is rarely if even mentioned as a risk. Canada still stock piles vaccines however in case of an emergency or bio terrorism.

Polio another terrible disease that I for one recall getting vaccinated for as a child in mass vaccination clinics at school. This disease now only persists in three countries around the world so there is a small risk of contracting it if one travels to a country known to still have the disease. Again stockpiles exist in case the disease is ever imported into Canada.

I cite these two examples since people reading this on here will likely have first hand knowledge of these two diseases and vaccination process. Simply put we get vaccinated in an effort to eradicate the disease first from Canada and then worldwide.

Had my first 28 January, second two days ago. Pfizer for both, can still feel it in the deltoid when I put my left hand up to ask Sir a question, but no other symptoms. My wife and son had Astra Zeneca and were just wiped out for a day. She's somewhat younger than me but gets her second early May. 91 year old mother in law had no symptoms whatsoever.

I remember getting an achy arm from some vaccinations when I was a kid. What do people expect!no There are a lot of complaining pussies out there.

I'm up for mine on May 1st. ... great way to bring in the month of May.

The shot(s) is not an off/on switch ... be prepared to have a Summer like the last one. Reality.

As for herd immunity (which (2) anti-vax numbskulls that live down the road from me are waiting for), a lot of people (elderly, preconditioned mostly) will have to become sick or die to achieve it.

The virus is like a wolf, hunting down old and weak prey, but also those who stray from the herd (the vaccine, mask, social-distancing deniers).

People are being bombarded by misinformation nowadays! furious Rant over!

I am a believer in science over Facebook or other social media. Unknown sources are just that, unknown, try suing them when you have a problem with their advice. There is a religious leader now in the us saying he is a prophet and he is advising against wearing masks, vaccines, etc. Why believe people you dont know over science?

Science has predicted many things very correctly , especially with Covid numbers. Prophets have been predicting the end of the world forever, they keep moving the date when their last prediction was wrong.

As for herd immunity, as Mike Tyson said, everybody has a plan until you punch them in the face.

I won't say much since we are now straying off the thread's intent.

READ HERE to learn about the 1947 Small Pox outbreak in New York City and how the Government and Health Officials handled it. Keep in mind Small Pox was thought to have been eradicated from US and Canada in 1946.

My wife and I chose to have our first Pfizer shots three weeks ago and have not experienced any side effects.  The process took 20 minutes with no wait times.smile
