Consumer Reports determines if a Tesla can operate autopilot without a driver

Wow, thanks for that Todd.  So it looks like Tesla doesn't even rely on a seat sensor, just whether the seatbelt is fastened.

They made their first profit in 2020, $721 million on $31.5 billion in sales. Their owners are insanely happy but they are very poor quality. Consumer Reports rates them as #25 as a brand behind everyone except Lincoln. On a rating number their models rated a 36, tops was Mazda at 83.

There traffic light and stop sign control frequently stopped at green light, stopped well before or well after stop signs, stopped at yield signs when no need to do so, stopped at every exit when on a traffic circle, the autopilot frequently jumped in front of traffic coming up fast behind it when changing into a passing lane, remained in the passing lane forever when no reason to, and disengaged for no reason.

They also have a reputation for ignoring service issues and blaming problems on drivers. Elon Musk is not one to admit mistakes. His self driving car system should be labeled as an experimental system.

Our closest dealer is Montreal.

These kind of protests won't help Elon.

I read China issued a stern warning to Tesla to start taking their Chinese customer's complaints seriously.

He's going to want to be careful as Tesla is the only automotive company that was able to set up shop there without partnering with a local company.
