Government sunk a destroyer off lunenburg a few years ago, in error it sank standing up. They had to put a navigational hazard buoy on it until they figured out how to lay it on its side.

They probably had some Government desk jockeys calculate the sinking. You and I would have put a bunch more well-placed explosives!
