The process is cool but I'd rather have the damaged one on my shelf.

Wow! Lots of effort went into that! I was thinking before I even watched the video, "Why?" After watching the video I asked, "Why spend all of that time fixing a Ferrari and not a Pontiac?"confusebiggrin

LOL... so many questions...

- How did it end up in such bad condition?  Looks like it was in a fire and then left at the bottom of a pond for 5 years.

- Why go through that trouble when you can probably just buy one in the box for a hundred or so?

- Instead of bringing that one back from the dead, why not spend that time and effort to superdetail a new one?

Hahaha...  none of my business really.  The guy obviously enjoys what he's doing, and it's a great way to pass the time.  An amazing save, really, but I would have preferred a Pontiac be saved over some ol' Ferrari... biggrin

Almost my thinking. Ive done old slot cars but never a newer car model that you could probably still buy. Otherwise its a neat hobby to stay active during these closed in times while the wife is in another room.

I can answer the "why?" question. He has had over 2 million views. What's that, about 5 grand in income?

I fast-forwarded through the video.

I would attempt to restore something rarer, older, etc. but not a new item that can be still purchased. How many person-hours did he spend on this resto? I wouldn't have the time or patience.
