Hello everyone.
I am the new owner of my fathers two owner 69 Pontiac Parisienne convertible of which he was the second owner. He purchased the car in 1972 from a dealer for 2500$ As my handle says doc69 its relative to what I will need to be doing to this car as it is in rough shape. Not a deterrent to me as I have had worse cars. My desire is to be able to restore it and be able to take him for a drive in it before he passes and have him have that memory that he hasnt been able to have for the almost 40 years the car has been parked in his garage

This site is fantastic and I have already learnt so much or at least I think I have

I just want to clarify my understanding from what I have read, basically body and chassis/suspension parts are same as 69 Impala, correct? Is there a difference in floor panels between hardtop and convertible? Hard for me to tell since there isnt much floor left for me to compare to. Are interior parts shared as well ie seat coverings?

Any local suppliers in Southern Ontario that members would recommend using to purchase said parts from?

Looking forward to completing this task and being able to take this car for a drive since I havent driven in it in such a long time as well

Thanks again for letting me join and I am proud to be a second generation Canadian Poncho owner

Cheers

Welcome here doc.

First I have to comment on what a great job you did with your introduction, perfect! Thanks for doing that.

You are going to find a number of 69 Pontiac fans here, guys who really know these cars.

To answer your question about the similarities between the Chevy and the Pontiac, picture the body lifted off the frame and taken away. What remains on the ground is Chevrolet. Anything that you order for that chassis that's sitting on the ground you can order for 69 Impala and avoid the whole pile of headaches in getting wrong parts.

Welcome Doc !

Southern Ontario, interesting.

I am in the London, Ontario area.

After the Covid stuff quiets down, we can get together and maybe take your dad for a spin in my car.

There is a lot of 1969 Parisienne owners here and a even more 1969 Parisienne, former owners.

We all like to help so keep asking questions.

Please post some pictures when you can.

Thanks !

Welcome to the site Dave. I'm one of those former owners who still has a big soft spot for the 69's.

And yes, pictures are a must!

A big soft spot, yes, and lots of your little parts are on my car biggrin

That's how this site works.

Welcome aboard. I initially started Canadian Poncho back in 2008 in the hopes of finding other 1969 Pontiac owners (I had a Laurentian at the time).
Be sure to post photos.

The floor pan is Chevrolet as well, but I can't clarify as to whether convertible vs hardtop floorpan pieces are the same. I think they are, but can't confirm.

Yes, you are right Clint, the floor pan is the same for convert, hardtop and sedan.
