RE: Rust Brothers Inventory all for sale

I really like some of the stuff he has there, and might consider a couple of them if I was nearby. But most of it needs so much work, which combined with transport costs, probably make it feasible to buy only if you live in western Canada. Prices? Well that's another matter. I too will be interested to see what they go for. Is this an auction scenario? That's probably the only way it can all be moved in a hurry. And then, what becomes of the show?

I'll be watching with interest.

 I, for one, won't really miss it even though I've seen every episode.

 During season 3 it seems like it was straying away in my opinion.. I didnt finish watching season 3 though  but they brought on and were showing Averys shop, and then those two other shops as well. JP Kustoms and cant remember the name of the other shop. So it seemed like it was straying away from Rust Valley By introducing 2-3 other shops..

 Dub Customs.

Not only were they straying away from Rust Bros. but they were straying away from car building, period.

It would show a rusty beater transform into a passable (far from great) resto in no time, no real documentation of the process. All the while, they were diving on sunken boats, blowing-up stuff, loading up goats and chickens on trailers, bump & pass and go-cart racing, etc. etc. It was like one big Rust Valley circus freak show.no

Just writing this, reminds me of how much I won't miss it.biggrin

 Sounds like they may be trying to morph the show into something else. JP is a Ridler award winning car builder; perhaps he'll be the focus going forward ... if they continue.

I don't know what the bulk if the "fans" of the show see in it that gets them to tune it in, but for me it's
1) love of musclecars
2) grass roots feel of the two main guys

I'd really prefer to never see Avery's butt crack again, and I realize Mike's dreds are his signature, but he can still be the same guy, but look like a business owner...

I really haven't cared for any of the show winning cars that the other shop did - neither were my cup of tea;

Granted, I'm more of a purist that Mike seems with his propensity to install a crate motor and order all manner of parts from Lordco right down to floor mats;
I'd like it more if correct replacement parts were ordered from restoration companies, and for an original desireable musclecar to have as correct a drietrain as possible... but that's me.

It seems that other shop is like so many others which get airtime - they are all about chrome, and aftermarket.

no thanks.

As an example, how much cooler would it be if that Beaumont SD restoration have been if it involved Mike running all over BC chasing leads on, or horsetrading to get just the right engine?

I would wager we're all sick of scripted drama, but if it still felt real, showed these charecters as they are, doing thier best to run a profitable business, it might be a better show.

I didn't tune the show initially because what I saw made it look like two rednecks fighting, but when I gave it a chance, I saw two guys with good intentions who are both sticks in the mud - each in thier own funny way.

And I quickly grew to like it.

I think they brought in the other shops to spread the wealth. Promote all of them as with the virus going round not much is happening.

I notice that the black on black buckets console 63 Parisienne has sold prior to the auction. I wonder what that went for .. and if some one from the forum got it.

Hopefully a Chevelle guy doesn't buy the wagon for just the motor!

Minimum cost for any car in the auction is $425.00

Registration fee. $25.00
Minimum first bid. $100.00
Buyers premium per lot. $300.00

Total fee for first initial bid. $425.00

I have seen that wagon and it is one of the very few in the yard that are worth more than the first bid fees

Wow, there's a lot of Beaumont and Acadian "Super Deluxe" cars in the auction.

I think the Rust Valley title is appropriate after browsing the auction list. I'm afraid he won't be getting millions of dollars for his collection.

Looks like at least $90 assuming a 10% sellers fee.
