 They look later, like 1979-ish?

This is scary. Our daughter and son in law say they want my Strato Chief and I should buy this car. Crazy thing is, I have a complete 427/4 speed/bench seat shifter setup for a 66. I may have to go look at this car.

Fake_66too, that looks like a very nice car Carl. And family expansion needs to happen when the urge strikes.

Its the one I was talking about last year. The teal one. The one I decided against because I liked the Bonneville looks/size better.
I saw that he actually listed it a month ago on Facebook marketplace (not sure if its still there as I dont use Facebook). its not on kijiji, but was on marketplace...

the maroon interior i 1966 must be rare. I sold a complete set of seat covers, F/R arm rests and convertible top boot and carpet to a customer in eastern Ontario (original owner). As I remember the colour did not show up on the US option sheet. With the customers ok, we subbed a Mopar colour (PUI) which was pretty much on the money except for the grain. It turned out great ! Delighted customer !

They mount under the dash and swivel out in order to access the top slot to get a tissue. Here's a photo of a Chevy one:

And....?

 So, about this car....

I went to see it yesterday morning, thinking it would be a great car for our daughter and son in law. However, they say my car is the one they want and I'm not ready to give it to them at this point! Anyway, about this car...

The car shows 31,000 mi. He is uncertain as to the correct mileage on the car. It looks like more than 31,000 but it just doesn't look like 131,000. The frame on the car looks extremely nice. It's solid and not pitted. The body mount on the driver side behind the rear wheel looks nice but it's soft when I pushed on it with my thumb. In the trunk above those two body mounts behind the rear wheels the floor is a tiny bit soft on one side but otherwise the trunk floor is very nice. The underside of the trunk lid has some rust on the lip right in the center at the V but I don't even know that it's bad enough that I would replace the trunk lid. It's probably repairable there. Because the skirts were on the car I couldn't tell for certain if the wheel lips have been repaired but it didn't look like it or feel like it when I put my hands up in there. The floors look really nice and don't appear to have had any work. He painted the car himself in his garage 25 years ago and the paint has stood up extremely well for a job that someone did at home. He told me when he did it he had repaired a small amount of rust behind each rear wheel but from what I could see he had done a nice job. The paint and limited body work it appears to have had are certainly driver quality though. Make no mistake, this is not a show car but it sure is a nice driver.

Both bumpers look very nice on the car and we all know what that costs to get these bumpers re-chromed! He probably has $2,000 worth of bumpers there. It almost looked like the doors had had a tiny rust repair in the common place on these cars but it was hard to say for sure. However the lips on the bottom of the doors were very nice. I only looked at the bottom of one front fender but it didn't look like it had ever been rusty. The headlight bezels are really nice and that's unusual on these cars, they are usually pitted.

The underhood needs some detailing and as pointed out the radiator and spacer are installed in their own sequence! He said a few years back he took it to a shop because the original rad was leaking and they sold him a replacement rad which didn't fit on the spacer so they installed it the way it is in the pictures! I never would have thought you could even do that. The engine started and ran beautiful. We went for a ride for a couple of minutes and the car seemed nice and solid, ran great, the one shift was fine!

The interior on the car caught my attention. The pictures don't do it justice. It is absolutely stunning in real life! It's basically flawless. The door panels and seats look spectacular. He installed new roof rail weather strips a few years back and it does have some wind noise but that's hard to get rid of on these hardtops.

There's very few options on the car. Power steering, power brakes and a radio. Otherwise the accessory power trunk and a tissue dispenser. He has not put a lot of miles on the car which I believe he said he bought in 1991.

The car has a 10 bolt in it which is somewhat unusual for a 66 Canadian pontiac. Because of that I assume it doesn't have factory heavy duty suspension, F40.

Overall a pretty impressive car. I guess it's just not going to be in our family which I am a bit disappointed about.
