Canadiens? who would have thunk it

after taking out my Leafs I would never thought they would be playing in the Stanley Cup

They are just peaking at the right time and are truly playing with confidence, all 4 lines.

Found out on news this morning that they won series, but fans rioted in Montreal which isn't a good sign over a "STUPID " sports event!!!! God help Montreal if they win or lose cause it "won't be PRETTY"

This is exactly what I fear the most! Have we forgotten how to party, how to celebrate, how to have a good time? Why break windows I'll never understand.

When the Habs won the cup in 93 it happened a few days before the F1 Grand Prix and I was taking around town a friend that had come for the event from Australia. The festivities of the Stanley Cup Parade were an added bonus to his trip but he couldn't understand why the riots. What an embarrassment!  The 4 consecutive cups from 76-79 I don't remember any rioting or violence at all and the one from 83 I was at the parade filming and all was peaceful.

I won't be going into downtown nor Old Montreal in the upcoming days just in case. Meanwhile I hope they play as a team and not as individuals and that The Cup goes where hockey lives!

Huge mountain to climb there.  I wish them the best, though.

Anderson was a beast last night-he was the player they signed up for. Price was excellent as well. Badly out shot by TAMPA.I fear for the Habs though-Tampa is so loaded up with talent( $18 million over the cap)-pretty sure this series ends soon.

Even if it is a 4-1 series win it does feel and sound a little bit better. We talk sometimes with luck coming into play like I thought Montreal should have won the second game but last night Tampa hit 3 goal posts. Game of inches.

A lose to Tampa, but it could be a win for Tampa fans to have the

Stanley Cup presented in front of a home town crowd.

Tampa Lady Mayor was joking (?) it would be nice to win the cup at home, looks like she will get her wish.

Tampa is doing something right, Super Bowl, Stan's Cup and runner up in the World Series.

True enough for the Lightning, but the Rays have one of the lowest salaries in MLB (26th out of 30).  They have built up a system of being able to identify good players on their way up and have a great farm system that is constantly yielding excellent young talent.  Plus, their management is really intelligent in terms of player placement and strategy.

The result is that they always have a competitive team, and when a player's contract runs out and they have earned a huge pay increase, they deal them off.

Too bad the Habs aren't facing that other team with the blue-and-white jerseys again - no such thing as a "long shot" comeback when they're on the ice! :D

You can swim over your head for a long time but it usually catches up to you, great respect to the Canadiens though, they made the playoffs more  interesting and entertaining than they otherwise would have been. Really impressed with #17 Josh Andersen.
