I don't want this to be a political thread but it needs to be said; This is a great country!  I was talking to a first generation immigrant the other day and he certainly appreciated it as compared to where he came from, so I hope we all don't lose perspective on this project we are part of.

Agree 100%, we can be sensitive to our past mistakes while also being thankful for what we have and recognizing what a great country we live in! HAPPY CANADA DAY everyone!!!!

Me three! Happy Canada Day everyone!
I delivered some honey to a nice elderly Iranian fellow yesterday. He and his wife are always a joy to talk to. They fled Iran during the revolution in '79.
He said to me yesterday "Canada is the best country in the world!"
Amen.

Happy Canada Day from me as well!

I think the news events lately make us think about what Canada is and where it came from.  Throughout time all over the world things and places evolved from a history that involved positive courageous deeds, and sometimes horrendous ones as well.  While it's important to celebrate the positive ones, it's equally important to recognize and understand the bad ones at the same time - and to learn from them so they are never repeated. Empathy and understanding will always make a good thing even better.

With all that said, I think Canada is one of the best places to live in the world and I am thankful each and every day that I live here.  I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Kinda late to the Party but ya Happy Canada Day, Born and raised in this Beautiful Country, Proud to be from Canada.
Is Canada Perfect? NO. Did some early People make Mistakes? Yup. Nobody is perfect. Getting to be some mud slinging out there now,
Statues getting beheaded and thrown into the ocean, then in return totem poles are being burnt, with a statement written with it
one statue one totem Pole. Why can't we all get along??
