Weird article.  The headline seems to suggest that the record temperatures caused some sort of anomaly that made it necessary to recharge Teslas more frequently, but the body of the article attributes the lineups to the fact that it's summer (and Covid restrictions are lifting), so people are road-tripping more, and people in the area tend to buy Teslas, and thus there are lineups at the charging stations.

So it appears the article is actually about the fact that there aren't enough charging stations yet to keep up with demand from all the Teslas that people are buying, and apparently that the record temperatures are related to climate change that EVs are supposed to help solve.

Where have all the good journalists gone... wink

Just wondering, I will never need to, but how much does it cost to charge your Tesla at one of these staions?

I believe it's free for the first year of ownership. After that it appears to cost about half that of buying gasoline (according to this Tesla link)

Yeah, don't be surprised if we see a Toronto Star front page article with a burnt-out Silverado under the headline "Gas guzzling pick up at the centre of Lytton disaster".

Dont see the logic in this lawsuit. Its still free. Just unplug it after it is.

Looks like this person wasnt so quick to pick it up afterwards and incurred fees. Shouldnt blame the company if youre lazy.

Agreed. It'd be like parking your car at the pump for half an hour after refueling at Petro Canada
