70s gm master cylinder question

for some reason the brake master cylinder in my 79 monza seems turned around meaning the front brakes run off the resivoir closest to the firewall the new master i got is the correct one but is opposite meaning reversing the lines am i going crazy? really dont remember the way it is now on any car always thought the front res was for the front brakes!

On my 72 Nova its front goes to front. The larger front reservoir services the front disk brakes.
