No room in the box either......sorry but for $15K I would want a truck with a functional box.

Here it is in a press photo from the time of release. The one for sale does appear to have some liberties taken. I don't know where you find that decal package on such a low production truck now.

Might as well buy one of those older Subaru pick-up thingies.

After looking at the truck a second time I realized it does have the decals. They are also black.

If you look close, the decals are there in flat black. I wonder what engine they had?

Were flat black decals on a black vehicle a thing back in the 1990s, or was this a special order or factory mistake... or were they applied after a new paint job?  I've only noticed the black on black motif become more common over the past 10-ish years.

It's funny to me, as a guy I know ordered a new Dodge Demon 340 back in 1971.  His order was for a black car with white stripes but the factory screwed up and delivered a black car with black stripes.  He was annoyed but decided to still buy the car as delivered (I guess he had waited long enough for it).  To most it was an oddity... why would anybody be dumb enough to install black stripes on a black car?  You could barely see them.  Now, it's considered cool.

A fellow tech while I was at the dealer in Goose ordered a Baja.. 4.3 "Z" with a 5-speed manual. 4.3 was the standard engine. After that, he bought its' sucessor, the ZR2, Sonoma Highrider.

I loved the S-T series trucks. I generally worked on them at the shop. I've had many including my 5-speed '84 Tahoe. Was carbed but I converted to EFI, 2.8, P/W, PDL, Cruise, A/C, Aluminum wheels, "ANL" front deflector with the fog lights, etc.

For my shop, I bought a 2wd short box, 2.5 4-speed and spliced the front frame from a Blazer to make it a 4.3 auto. Then added the pw, pdl, tilt, cruise, digital cluster and a/c.

Then in '15, I went to Calgary and bought my ZR2. The cab was getting bad on the blue S-10.

I've had three.

First was a $400 1989 that was traded in at the Chrysler dealer I worked at. Circa 2002. 4.3 auto with AC

Second I believe was a 93. 4 banger with a 5 speed. It came factory that turquoise blue. I did the black to break up the colour a bit

Last one was a 91. Also a 4.3/Auto. It was the last vehicle I owned in Ontario

I thought they were great little trucks.
