1962 Envoy Sherwood station wagon. Bedford, NS

Could be the only one in Canada.

This 1962 Envoy Sherwood Station Wagon was made by the Vauxhall Division of General Motors. It was sold new at Teasdale and Foote in Dartmouth and has remained in the Halifax are its entire life while only going 48,000 miles which equals only 800 miles per year. The paint and upholstery look new but are original and unrestored. The car drives as new and needs nothing. This is the best unrestored car I have ever seen. Call Jim at 902 210 5075 for more information. $9800.00

Wow what a beautiful and rare wagon. I think that is an awesome deal on a collector car. Hope it finds the right home.

Still has the original dealer tag on the tailgate, pot metal with screws to hold it on. I think I have one of those off a 62 BelAir, same colour car too. Thats a nice one, Dad sold those new in Summerside.

To my eye it looks Soviet block in styling.

Nice little car.  It would definitely be the only one you'd see at pretty much any car show, for sure.  They sure did rust quickly around here, though.

The original dealership was located on Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth, and built around 1930 (designed by architect Herbert Elliot Gates: https://dictionaryofarchitectsincanada.org/node/1585).  The buildings are gone now, having been torn down and replaced with residential.  I last remember it being used in the 1980s for a Skoda dealership.

Here's a dealer tag on ebay (a hundred bucks US seems a little stiff): https://www.ebay.com/itm/402702854120

Teasdale and Foote dealer emblem.png

The dealership was bought out and the name changed to Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Limited in 1967.  http://akama.ca/company/Forbes_Leasing_Limited_a40eb3146846.html

"The Forbes Group was founded in 1967 by Ivan L. Forbes when he acquired Teasdale and Foote's long standing GM operation and established it as Forbes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Limited on Prince Albert Rd in Dartmouth. Forbes Chev-Olds evolved over time to become a standard for reliability, trust and integrity in the automotive marketplace. The business moved to Portland Street in 1969 and Ivan was joined by his son Patrick W. Forbes in 1970 who took over the business in 1984."

Here's a video that shows the dealership in the 1940s.  There was a larger stone building in back that I believe held the showroom and would have been the one designed by the architect above, I imagine.  Don't have much more solid info than that unfortunately.

The dealership was located where Starr Lane is at the google link:  https://goo.gl/maps/hEwY3aaBNkg1jhSY6
