Need printer help

We have a 2005 Lexmark x215 multi purpose printer now used for copies only as it is not wireless....cry

Yesterday, only blank pages emerged and then noticed the bulb was very dull.

No answer so far from Lexmark and no luck finding one on the web at various sites.

Anyone know where this can be purchased?bulb.jpg

Buy a new one Bernie. Id imagine the part, if you can find it, will be expensive compared to a new mfc. Unless its laser.

I had a wireless, it bugged the hell out of me, every time I went to use it, it had to go on the net to check for updates, took 5 minutes to print one page. And ink was a fortune. From off, it took a long time to warm up and then it would check for software updates.

I never print colour so I bought a black and white non wireless laser, cost of ink is way less and it warms up and prints in 10 seconds from off.

Im throwing the old one out if you want it.

We have had a Brother MFC7680 multifunction printer for a few years

Lazer quality excellent and over the years have replaced toner cartridges about 20 times along with the drum unit less than 5 times.

Check kijij in your area for a lazer printer used.

The lazer toner yields 800 to 1000 pages

One with a scanner and fax will bring you current., might even be wireless

We have several other wireless laser printers and one color ink jet, so no shortage.

This old Lexmark is in an office downstairs where it is used strictly for copies, no internet.

This office/storage/reference library is without computers, tablets, etc just old fashioned filing cabinets and paper files.

A friend once asked why we keep paper files, my answer was that may paper files have never crashed and never had a

virus necessitating something from the cloud (?) to restore them.........no

Just trying to save an old friend from the dumpster...........cry

Im with you Bernie, I have anything important on paper, electronic copies are a backup and easy to use, when not crashed.

Another great scam. $50 for the printer, $70 for the ink..
