Ahhh, here we go. Advertising a car as a COPO 427 car with zero documents, and as per usual the price is probably out to lunch. This dude really needs a different hobby, like gardening or tile painting. Something that gets him far away from cars And being able to sell to the public.
Emblem says its SS 427, what more proof do you need? Whos hoarding 427 emblems? Youre rich now.

Ad is written to be ambiguous (with "???") so that no claims are made but with ad title will probably be misinterpreted as being true. No price... wonder how much he is asking for this tetanus-inducing heap? It's barely a parts car. Buyer beware. This is part of the hobby that I really despise - people trying to deceive in order to make a pile of easy cash.
How difficult would it be for the seller/potential buyer to get documentation on this car?

I read an article awhile ago about a 1967 Chevelle SS427. The selling dealer installed the engine in the car when new and added the SS427 badges. The current owner had all the documents from new. This car may have come from the same dealership, the emblem on the tail panel looks to be in the same location.
No such thing was built from GM that year. If anything, a dealership built it and added all emblems but I'm guessing someone did it in the '70's-early '80's. That car is maybe worth 10% of the asking price-Maybe!! It's not even a gear car to boot..........What a waste.

Oh, there were COPOs in '67, OPP cruisers, Reliable taxi cabs, Silverwood's milk trucks, and maybe the custom paint on the convertibles used in the last Leafs' Stanley Cup parade. Just not any 427 Chevelles or Camaros.
Theres only 1 SS427 1967 Chevelle in existence, and that is a Baldwin Motion car. It was found about 15ish years ago and is being restored. I remember seeing it on a Yenko forum or Chevelle forum. Not an original GM offering, but as close as youre ever going to get.

Yeah, I'm sure there were dealer conversions. Joel Rosen started up Baldwin Motion around then, on Long Island. But COPO is something that ran down the assembly line, with specifications not available in the order book, like a red interior with green paint, or stuff for fleets like exterior treatments or rear seat delete options. The original "COPO" performance cars were the brainwaves of Dick Harrell and Don Yenko. Not even possible, today, with emissions and safety compliance having to be certified.
this guy should be thrown in jail!!! check out the 67 beaumont sd on kijij for $90k my buddy sold him the car,,yes it is a documented sd396 with gm docs,,,,but he added all them options he claims is factory,,, those docs, he shows are made up ,,,fraud charges???
I can't get it to print but can read some. Maybe someone else can add in the rest.
