No Cars

After continuing to observe the continual pressure from Gov'ts and Insurance Companies to eliminate OUR  Classic vehicles and  having an interested person wanting to purchase my '65 Chevelle I have reluctantly sold it and I am sadly now down to 0 cars.

1966 ACADIAN Canso SD -------sold May 2019

1965 CHEVELLE 300 Deluxe-----sold September 2021

How did they pressure you Chris? Here in PEI it's pretty simple to own an old car and Hagerty is easy to insure with.

Just looking ahead at what Gov'ts are doing and my age 70. As for Hagerty they were never the same as Lant!

Is this a conspiracy theory? Hasn't impacted me.

Not a conspiracy theory and here are some facts. When I sold my 65 Chevelle the purchaser used Hagerty and they would only agree to the purchase value and not the appraised value (was a difference of $7000) even though a valid appraisal was provided . This makes a big difference in a total loss. Insurance rates have been on the rise and the coverage in a lot of areas has been reduced. Electric vehicles are being promoted by all Gov't and a lot of manufacturers. Gov't and Insurance Companies are not real friendly to
Classic Vehicles! Just my opinion!

Here in Saskatchewan I can plate Classic Cars for $150/yr (1987 and older)
This basically gets you a plate and liability insurance. You do get $1000 of insurance but the deductible is $700 so its a wash. I have $30000 on one vehicle and $10000 on another through Hagerty with a low deductible, this for the cost of $301 per year. There is a discount for second vehicle. Thats $601 total for both

Guys cant plate a motorcycle here for 2 months for that price.

Compared to the cost of everything elae these days Im quite happy with this, although Im sure youre right, its only a matter of time!

Arcadian, was your Chevelle stock or modified engine wise? Ive never had an issue on agreed value and an appraisal was not required from Hagerty when I bought my Pontiac.

Did you sell it for $7,000 under appraised value?

Hagerty rates go way up if you claim your car to be hot rodded

327/300hp with headers, aluminum intake, Edelbrock 650 carb. Just to be clear my insurance was with Intact when I owned it @$283 per year and an appraised agreed upon value of $52,000 including gst. Purchaser bought for $45,000 and new appraisal for $52,000 but Hagerty would only accept the sale price for the value.
