Darryl, when I was learning about and building my first the 8.875, I joined and spent a lot of time, asked a lot of questions on TeamChevell. The transmission and drivetrain section is chock full of rear end stuff ,and the guys there were very helpful to a newb.
I've always bought my parts from IWE rear ends only in Burnaby BC. They are a great source for parts and are fantastic to deal with.
If there is some teck tips on parts I can add...go with a Super shim setup on the carrier side shims and a solid pinion spacer kit as well. Use a hogged out test bearing on and off to work up to your correct pinion depth.
