58 Laurentian Sedan. 30000 miles. Zorra, Ontario

Sounds like a one family car since seller came home as a baby in the car.

1958 Pontiac Laurentian. 283 engine with 2 speed power glide transmission. Extremely original repainted early 70’s original paint inside doors, trunk and under the hood. Transmission has a leak but runs and drives. Always stored inside. Selling for $18000 as is or $15000 without the engine and transmission. This was my first car I ever drove and was brought home as a baby from the hospital in it.

 My exact thought too.

That would be a hard car to part with. But I guess things do change.

Prices seem out of whack.
Even has the choke tube from the exhaust.
What would they do with the pulled motor ?

Car looks ok but seeing all the bright work is now not so bright and terribly pitted, I could only imagine what the underside of this car look like.... and yes, why pull the powertrain? Because of the newly painted water pump? Dunno...

I still kick myself in the royal duff for not pulling the trigger on this one back in April... $13,000 and the powertrain came with it..... (My oh my oh my....)

The one you missed looks funny - seems to have Laurentian trim and two-tone paint, with Strato Chief badging?  My brother came home in one, a navy blue '58 with the 261 and three-on-the-tree, rubber floor mats and industrial-grade seat upholstery.  Still have some old pics of it in a storage locker, not far from BJburnout; it definitely lacked the side trim shown in the ad.

***Correction - just found a '58 brochure online.  Dad's car had to have been a Pathfinder.  Strato Chief dropped to the bottom of the batting order later.***

Nice example.  Would love to have something like that in my driveway.  I agree that the suggestion of selling the car without drivetrain seems a little ridiculous.

Couldn't help but notice the Canadian Tire rubber on it - by the look of it, these tires must be close to 50 years old?

Those tires could very well be the second set the car ever had.

Pretty strong asking price for a less than perfect 4 door? Trans leaks, a lot of the chrome needs to be redone and those tires would likely fail inspection. I thinking $10K tops? Less if shipping a greater distance. Its a great survivor, too bad its not a 2 dr post car.
