1986 Chevrolet RPO Codes help

I have another question for the many knowledge people on here...

I am trying to decode my 1986 Caprice and have come across some RPO codes that make no sense or are not found in my data,

B3W

CAD

(I also found this car has a plant number 9 that decodes to "Detroit, MI (CAD)" according to a GM vin decoder card for 1986)

D6B

FA2

FJ2

GC7

LG4

YT9

27T

279

31U

31Q

Thanks Again

Thanks. If you look at what is says on the link you sent its very different. I know you are right because the bin says so. This discrepancy is why I am questioning these numbers. Would love to see the exact definition if someone has the correct ones.

Stupid me. Why didn't I offer to sell you a parts manual for that car along with the service manuals. I have a parts book for sale that covers it.

I'll check, I think it will have the RPO codes in it.

Send me a pm or an email with the details. I would be interested in any literature for this car. I have have a file cabinet drawer and an large box as well as a large fireproof safe for all my impala books, binders and docs that I have accumulated over the last 40 years

Just looked through the list in the parts book and the only one of those codes (other than colours) is the engine code. confuse

31U is Dark Blue Metallic  WA 8592 is the code you need if you want to get paint for it.

I can't prove it but I'm betting 279 is the interior trim code.

31Q is likely the code for the coloured body side mouldings thinking back to my partsman days.

Are these codes on the white sticker pasted in the car ?
Usually by the spare tire. But also on the glovebox door.

These are on the one in the trunk. Nothing in the glovebox
