So now we are going to subsidize vehicle purchases for the wealthy?  If our tax money is going towards private vehicles, I'd rather see subsidies go to young families who are struggling to keep their old vehicle on the road so they can go to work and take care of their kids.  Let the rich people pay actual costs for their big electric SUVs and pickups.

The world just keeps getting sillier...

I think rebates are a crock, manufacturers and dealers simply add $5,000 to the selling price if there is a rebate. Look at current so called rebates and so called 0 percent financing, you know the interest is in there somewhere.

Also, pickups and suvs became sexy and the thing to own and prices have gone up $20-30,000 in no time. People keep buying them. Electric is becoming very sexy, the next big thing to own. Theyll sell without any of my tax money needed. With gas prices going up a lot, and likely more, thats incentive enough to get an electric.

Take a look at housing prices, through the roof everywhere and still going up and still selling. No subsidies needed, except for low income rental housing.

Let the companies make them cheaper. Not us taxpayers.
Do people really want these if they are so expensive?
