She may not have had coverage. If it was an old truck she may have just had liability insurance.

A friend of mines neighbour had his farm tractor stolen. Not much help from the police because they said it would be hard to track down because it wasnt a road vehicle so the serial number wouldnt be traceable. The insurance company was having a hard time trying to determine the value of a twenty year old tractor also. A week later he was at a relatives wedding in western Ontario about 400 km away. There was an agricultural equipment dealer nearby and to kill some time the day before the wedding he decided to take a look. Anyway he found his tractor! Called the police and the insurance company paid to have it shipped home. What are the odds!
